Divorced and sad, but wiser by far,
no longer wondering where you are.
With my hand over the mouse, I clicked on “send,”
and life as I knew it was about to end.
He used his charm, and the bait I took;
soon thereafter I was definitely hooked.
The counsel I sought, was very wise;
however, I believed only Satan’s lies.
He sounded so good, but I hadn’t a clue,
so to the fantasy man I said “I do.”
After marriage, the control grew worse,
he didn’t want me, he was after my purse.
I heard, “I’m so sorry,” after the abuse,
but for all his actions there was no excuse.
Words will never hurt me? That’s just not true.
They cut like a knife through the heart of you.
Some have found online friends, it’s true,
but just be aware of the predators too.
Don’t be in a hurry, to click that mouse;
let God send the right kind of spouse.
Stop and think, don’t rush like me.
Wait for the person with integrity.
Seek God first, if you’re going to wed,
A marriage can thrive, with Jesus as the head.
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
